President Bush arrived at the Chinese capital on Thursday, thus becoming the first U.S. president to attend Olympic Games on foreign soil.

Bush, first lady Laura Bush and their daughter Barbara came off Air Force One together, where they got a red-carpet greeting from the Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and others, and then sped away in a motorcade.

Bush has said that he come here to enjoy the Olympic Games and also wants to President Hu Jintao about human rights.

Bush is an avid sports fan and former part-owner of Major League Baseball's Texas Rangers, has said he is intent on making his Olympics visit about sports, not politics. He will be attending then opening ceremony tomorrow night and after will go to see U.S. basketball and baseball games against China.
